My little Still puts out

Post by BoomTown » Fri Jun 05, 2020 3:55 pm

My little Alquitarra Still just finished its first spirit Run.

It run 10L without picking. Today’s (first time) spirit charge was

8.5 L of low wine
1.75 L of 12% light Whisky wash.
ABV of 50%

Heat source is a Kadco, 9” Commercial grade Hotplate.

I pumped the heat in till thE first drips show, the dialed the heat back to low.
Tossed the first 200 ml into the wind as tribute to friends that did not come home from my war.

200 ml as Fients @ 170 /85% ABV
750 ml as Heads @ ABV dropping to 156p / 78%
3 L as Hearts @ ABV dropping to 100p / 50%
1.5 L as Tails @ ABV dropping to 24p / 10%

I feel pretty good about collecting some great spirit, and some excellent conginor laden fients/heads/tails.

I'll raise a toast to your friends too. Too many don't come home, or come home and need to rebuild. Here's to the men and women who sacrifice what some will never understand. May they, their friends and families all find peace.

Drifter, i haven’t a clue where that came from but thank you for saying it. Those are words of honor and dignity.

Great morning here! Yesterday was surprisingly peaceful in Your nation’s capital! This morning, not as humid, sun bright as a new dime. Got a beer run working, great cup of coffee, and messages from several of our old friends. May all your roads be down hill, the wind at your backs, and your loved one’s safely in front! It’s great to be back!

Hey Boom, I call my still “Slut”. Because it really puts out. Sort of on topic!

Howdy Yonder!

That quote doesn't come from anywhere but my heart.

I'm the son of one of those who didn't come home from SE Asia 50 years ago. Only those who have been there know what the sacrifice is. My heart bleeds for those who have recently been injured. Warriors, their parents, spouses, children and FRIENDS pay the price in torment. Time doesn't heal all, but that time does offer perspective.

My hope for you is that you find peace.
