Haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet as I decided if I'm doing one thing I might as well do three!

Goona put legs on my electric keg (bolt on for now) build a shotgun condenser and wire everything up.
It's still -14 out in the garage and I'm sick as a dog right now, so...we'll see how it goes.

Numerous 57L kegs, some propane, one 220v electric with stilldragon controller. Keggle for all-Grain, two pot still tops for whisky, a 3" reflux with deflag for vodka. Coming up, a 4" perf plate column. Life is short, make whisky and drag race!

Well sick and all, I was out in the garage building the shotgun...hmm, 49" might be a bit too long...Oh well, the main part is done. Nine 3/8" tubes 49" long in 2" pipe aught to cool stuff down eh?

Just got to make the caps on either end. The other funny thing, after I soldered on the two water outlets I realised..they're both male! Didn't even see females in the hardware store.

Camera went dead, I'll see if I can load a couple pic's.

That's too bad lakelover, just keep trying though, it'll be in stock eventually.

Here's the shotgun...yeah I know it ain't pretty!
Nine 3/8" tubes, I made them extra long to make it easier to solder.

Pound it down
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... 1d518a.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

I ran some solder around the tube to stiffen them up then cut them off with the horizontal bandsaw

Drill the hole for the water in/outlets

Clean up the hole with the angle grinder

Pipe fitted and smeared with paste

Run a little bit of solder around it

Just have to make the ends now

Ok, been stupid crazy at work and the starter crapped out on the truck. (love changing a start in the driveway at -7 with a cold wind...) :angry-cussing:

This all started with the idea of getting a controller.

Anyway, been doing what I can, finally finished tonight. I'll post pic's tomorrow.
I put legs on the keg...then added the controller, then made a 49" shotgun condensor...and then mounted that on the other side of the keg..then I modified my parrot to screw onto the condensor...finished tonight and want to run a water/vinigar run then run my feigns as disposable alcohol. I've got two 30L pails waiting in the garage for a couple weeks now hopefully run this stuff tomorrow then maybe tomorrow night or Monday night run the pails off.

Yup, been busy..

OK! FINALLY!

Here's some pic's;

Electric keg with controller mounted on front and 49" shotgun condensor mounted on back. Also made the parrot mount off to the side for convenience.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... ecef66.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Close up of the controller from stilldragon, I mounted a computor fan on the front and drilled hole behind the SSR so cold air is sucked in the front and blows over/around it then out the back.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... be6e26.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Modified my parrot to couple to the shotguns output
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... d40935.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Yeah it's tall, 49" long with 9, 3/8" tubes. I have about 2" of clearance to the 2nd floor.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... 642f61.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Bent up heavy aluminum sheet then used two 2" muffler clamps to fasten the shotgun to it.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... d2524e.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Other side
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... 0ddde8.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

I used an exh pipe expander to expand the pipe to tightly fit over the ferrul then silver soldered it.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... aaf906.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Close up of the front aluminum plate and the controller
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... 3910d0.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

It works!! Got steam from the vinigar/water mix!
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... b6bd8a.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

SHE'S A HONKIN' NOW!!
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... 6a7bff.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Even with no cooling water hooked up, it's so big it still condenses enough to have liquid output!
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b400/ ... c7b392.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

OK, so some dummy (me) thought once the run was over, since I don't have a drain mounted yet, I'll just unscrew the element and drain it that way....yeah right! The element jammed in the hole as I unscrewed it and at the risk of getting scalded I stepped back....and took a pic!

Edit, trying to post the actual pic instead of a link. Apparently my pic's are to big and I'm not about to go shrinking them all.

Now that I'm thawed out, I'll comment on the stilldragon controller;

Plugged it in and turned it on....the sound of bubbles for about 3 seconds then quiet. Crap, did I do something wrong and it just fried?? :esurprised:
Looked into the keg with a troublelight and..there's bubbles forming on the element so no I think it's working. Can hear a faint buzzing noise from the box.

Wait 15 minutes and check again...still little bubbles forming on the element and drifting to the top, earily quiet though.

1/2hr...hmm, I'm feeling heat (remember it's -8 in my unheated garage) or maybe the absence of cold?

Went to MacDonalds for supper because the wife and kids are gone to the inlaws. (took 10 minutes and the riser was off the still which only had water/vinigar)

45 min, yup, it's all assembled and the bottom of the riser is getting hot to touch.

About 1hr in and the riser is hot and the sound of water starting to boil can be heard...and this weird ominous moaning? Moaning getting louder and at varying pitches...somewhat disturbing....

1hr 15 min got a raining sound in the shotgun, like water running in the evestrough. vinigar/water "fores" start. Steaming quite hard without the cooling water hooked up.

Turn the dial and instantly the boil stops and the steam stops, dial it back up a bit and the boil immediately starts again and the steam shoots out of the parrot. Basically move the dial and instant reaction. Very impressed!

Just blowing steam through it so I'm not trying to be articulate with the knob, just moving it up and down. When I do a sacrificial alcohol run I'll tell you how easy it is to operate (or not :eh: )
So far, I'm liking electric and the stilldragon controller works awesome!

Due to a pm I thought I'd pass on to all that since installing my stilldragon controller I've had ZERO issues with it. Literally wired it up and plugged it in, been running reliably ever since.
Many, MANY runs done, no issues.

Highly recommend it.

+1.

I have 2 of them, one wired for 120v for my 5 gallon, and another wired 240v, for my 15 gallon. I got the bigger box the second time and that gave me room for a quick 240 fan.

SD DIY controller was the key to me going electric out the gate.
