Controller goodies

Post by Halfbaked »

What goodies do you use in your controller that are reliable. Links are king here. If it is reliable post it. Switches, lights, amp meters, voltage meters, 110 to 12v. Buttons and do gathers Long life items are king here. Goodies only please. Thanks.

Great idea Halfbaked,

Since I have my spare parts sitting right here I will list them.

My SSR is a Fotek SSR-40VA and it came from Amazon with the heat sink

That listing shows currently unavailable but there are a couple others still selling it

I don't know the brand my digital volt/amp meter is but it has a label that identifies it as model DL85-2041. There are several Amazon links available if you search that number. Here is one

I have the voltage side wired to read voltage at the switch before the SSR because I read if you wired it after the SSR you will burn it out. Originally I had it wired after the SSR and ran it numerous times like that with no failure but rewired it as a precaution.

My switch is a Leviton 30 amp double pole single throw switch from Home Depot P/N 3032
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-30- ... /100356941

I've been running the SSR since July of 2014 and have even accidentally run it a couple times without the fan and had no issues. The meter and switch were added in March 2015 and there has never been an issue with them.

My DL85-2041 meter didn't last long at all. It didn't fail during a run, but it has started spewing nonsense numbers and no amount of blowing out dust and using CRC 2.26 spray has resurrected it yet.

I'm going to give a hard second on anything from www.auberins.com. Great products and great customer service. Everything I use came from them.

They sell kits and accessories all the way up to assembled units.
