Propane burners, Links to high BTU models?

Post by cellsitegod »

I'm not sure what BTU my old turkey fryer Propane stand is.
But, I'm looking to replace it. Anybody got a link to someone who sells a high BTU unit?
Thanks

so that "HIGH-PRESSURE CAST IRON BURNER 170,000 BTU" is nice and all but what do you mount it to? Is there a pre-fab base that it goes into?
And does that work with the same style of propane tank that I use on my Gas grill?

Sorry for the noob Q's. No question is a stupid question right?

You need a flat piece of steel for the burner to mount to . it just uses a small nut and bolt to fasten burner to flat stock . You can use a BBQ type tank . You would want to get a high pressure regulator for this burner also.

Looks like they do have a prefab stand with the burner installed

Looks pretty heavy duty and a beautiful price too. Wish they shipped to the 51st state.

How long does it take to heat your average batch with that thing? I'm going with a new 15.5 Sanke style keg for my new still, and if your numbers sound good, well I'll just go have to get one of those.

Mine is similar to the one posted but mine is only 85,000BTU, it heats up 6 gallons of wash in about 45 minutes. Havent really got the stopwatch out though. could be 10 minutes difference in either direction.

Damn fine units, Canadian Tire sold the 85,000BTu i bought but I cant find it anymore, must be a seasonal thing.
