When I first got it, all rings made a nice blue flame when flat out. Then the inside ring started to be more yellow than blue. Now all three rings have more yellow flame than blue.
What's the problem here? Is it blocked or rusted inside?
There is a lot of grey coloured powder all over it.
Would a re-bore help? Is a port and polish going too far?
I bore out the flame ports on my burners pretty regular. They rust and close up slowly over time. Just take a proper sized drill bit and drill em out then shake blow or otherwise get rid of the rusty dust you've made. Good as new.

This mite seam to be a silly question but got to ask. Are you using it indoors or out? Is there proper ventilation? I know its not a good idea to run one indoors. But being secretive with our hoby has some running them in a confined space. Yellow flame happens when not enough oxygen is mixed with the fuel before combustion.
We lived in this 100 year old house that had the little propane wall heaters in every room. I replaced a few of the ones we used the most. With the vent free blue flame ones. They have a sensor setup that shuts them off when the oxygen levels get to low. I had one room that the heater would shut down all the time. I finally installed a vent to another room in the wall and one in the door. Never happened again.

I do run it in the garage, but the door is always open about a foot, and the burner is right next to the opening.
I might do a bit of maintenance on it this week. It could be blocked inside with something. I'll re-drill the holes and hit it with the compressor.

Perhaps you have accidentally closed the brass vents at the end near the valves?

Never thought of that.
I know when I first got it, I adjusted the valves to just give a blue flame. Maybe with the buildup over time I need to adjust the valves out a bit more.
