I have been given two full 19KG bottles of gas, I have always ran my stills on electric, seeing that I got these for free, i am thinking of using these to heat my still, I am building a new still at the moment, so I was thinking of leaving out fitting the heating elements for the time being and giving it a go with the gas, would like to know how long would/should one 19kg bottle last me? my new still is LM type running on a 10 gallon beer Keg.
Thanks

Re: gas bottles
I'm lousey at metric/US conversions, but I get around 35 to 40 hours worth from a 20 pound bottle with a 60k btu burner.
It is the very things that we think we know, that keep us from learning what we should know.
Valved Reflux, 3"x54" Bok 'mini', 2 liebig based pots and the 'Blockhead' 60K btu propane heat

Re: gas bottles
19kg=38-40lbs there abouts, so going by you then Hawke, my gas bottles should last me quite a while.
Thanks for that.

Re: gas bottles
I get ten or twelve runs from an 18kg bottle.
That'd include strips and spirit runs.
