Liebig ready to assemble (right)?

Post by Benredbeard »

Ok, got my 3/4" over 1/2" Liebig designed. Inner pipe is 58" long, and will have a spiral on the outside to turbulate the cooling water. Inside, I've hammered flat some scrap 1/4" tubing to be a condensing "ribbon" in the vapor path. That one will friction-fit inside with a double twists over its length.

Before I fire up the torch and solder, anything glaring I'm missing?

(3/4"x1/2"x1/2" removed for illustration)

It would be helpful if you posted the picture here in HD instead of on Google which requires to login..

Postscript: apart from working the coolant pump, does the degree of spiral in the turbulator matter a great deal?

is the pic short a reducing tee? maybe lay all your pipes out and fittings and show us a pic of that too if you really wanna make sure

also 58" is long AF i have a 900mm/36in liebig that is damn effective but still a little unwieldy...

thinking about it if i were gonna make a 58 inch liebig id probably just make a shotgun instead

Yes, reducing tee removed for visualization. Long but it's intended to reach down to the keg boiler from the CCVM tee so the product jar can sit there.

Angle the hose tails so that the hoses don't kink.
