Cheap Water proof Thermometer

Post by CaptMorgan »

I just ordered a pair of these aquarium thermometers to monitor my cooling water. They used to be $5.55 a pair, I got them for $2.99.

I recirculate water from a 54 liter tote using a pond pump. I was using a hard to read floating glass thermometer, this should simplify things a little. I thought this might help you guys and save you some cash too.
Lord, give me patience, but give it to me NOW!

Thanks, Capt. I’ve always wondered about the coolant temp at the surface and the bottom of my barrel over the course of a run. Same for the temps at the top/bottom inside my kiln (between 110F - 140F).

Ordered two sets.

I found similar on eBay for around $4 each and got a little carried away for a while. These needed external power though, so I wired them all up to a christmas light power adapter.

I have already tried to turn it off (ublock origin), an amazon icon appears but it is not clickable .... firefox is in restrictive mode, that could be it.
PS ... I just tried it, the restrictive mode was the cause.

I have seen those thermometers many times on aliexpress and they are also very cheap. For those who use a large bin for cooling water, there are also (analog) suction cup thermometers, useful perhaps to be applied to the container wall.

They look exactly the same as supplied with a T500 reflux still......if so the only " water proof" part is the probe and the wire leading to the thermometer.
