Cleaning a old copper boiler

In our view 30 gallons and under is considered hobby size. Do not bring anything larger than this to our site.

Cleaning a old copper boiler

Hello I have lately got out my old potstill, but my boiler was looking like it had seen better days,and its was covered in copper corrosion,what is the best way of cleaning up copper to make it safe to use again ,I tryed citric acid soak then scrubbef it with detergent and filled it with water and gave a good boil, is their any. Step I'm missing here looks usuable but still not perfect

If you git rid of the blue then I’d say you’re good to go .
Sounds like you gave it a good rinse in water after acid soak and scrub . Thats key to ensuring it doesn’t grow straight back. :thumbup:

Generally citric acid is what I recommend for our uses, there are stronger acids but they will be corrosive and to be used only in desperate situations. A concentrated citric acid solution is sufficient if from enough time to act.

I believe LWTCS suggested a product a while back but I am currently on vacation and my mind is resting :lol:
