Lavender

Post by Bushman »

After getting home from a 3 week vacation I was a little late on picking my lavender but still ended with some nice fragrance. I believe I will leave my final product as an hydrosol. Below are a few pictures of my run.

I filled 8 small bottles around 200 ml full all smell of lavender but only 2 of the bottles are really strong with the oil look so I put those two in the fridge to see if they separate.

Probably should have picked the lavender 2 weeks ago but still had a nice run today. Will see how it separates but it sure smells good. Not as cloudy as my mint so don't believe It will yield as much oil.

Question Bushman...what other herbs do you extract? (Not talking about Jane's herbs)

Lavender is ready so will try to do a run this week.

Kiwi, sorry I just saw your post but haven’t done a lot of other runs other than lavender and mint. Basically still in a learning process but I do want to dedicate part of my garden to this new found hobby.

It’s only been several days and I will wait several weeks but I am guessing the oils will not separate in The lavender like my mint has.
