Ok so some of us are putting together a Triple Malt for a get together in June, S3 if you saw that thread. In typical nature for me I lost track of time and it was March when it occurred to me S3 is 3 months away. My S3 triple malt was stripped and sitting in a carboy Shit, that leaves only 3 months to age after doing the spirit run this weekend. 3 months will not deliver a palatable product to my brethren at S3.

In desperation, some of these motors caught my eye at work. Yes, typical vibrator motor you might find in say, a dildo. Or in our case a slightly higher tech gizmo, but nonetheless, it’s a dildo motor (That’s what I call em at work too).

Picture tells a thousand words, so Ill skip the banter. I have 3 jars with motors and 2 jars left dildo free for control group. These will buzz away till June. Not sure this will produce an orgasmic product or not, but we'll find out in June.

I wish this shot was a video, these babies are buzzin away to beat all hell. I had to put the jars on the towel cause it was loud and annoying. (kind of like, hey honey, you think the kids can hear what we’re doing in here….)

this is getting pretty deep, glad to see the maturity level is still high around here. I've been worried lately that it might be slipping.

Back on topic...Jimbo, do you use thermal cycles to speed aging too? That usually does the trick for me.

p.s. - acoustic stimululation is a novel way to shortcut time. Do you think the oscillatory energy transmitted to the liquor will cause molecular changes? I guess that this theory has been tried and proven with the ultrasonic cleaners in the past.

from what I've read and tried, ultrasonic, microwave etc etc have been proven to flavour quickly but can it replace aging??? There just seems to be some magic that only time can deliver.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for that, I've tried the nuking and it does indeed give a drinkable product quickly but doesn't come close to what time can do. I'm curious to find out the results.

Nuking oaks wood. im hoping 24/7 vib helps with true aging, molecular harmonizing. The bonding of esters to the ethanol molecule. Does this or ultrasonic cleaners or music really work?
