Hot water system as a still

Hey all,

I'll start by saying that Im very new to distilling...but I have gone through the homedistiller site a couple of times.

I was planning to make a small pot still until I got given a working 180L hot water system. I am thinking that with a few mods that I could use this as a pot still?

Has anyone seen this done, any tips/tricks? Am I wasting my time?
