I used cinnamon among other botanicals in my gin. I used 2 pieces of cinnamon stick an inch long. I ran about 8 litres through the herbs at about 90%av + (the herbs sit on a screen right below the condensor in my reflux still). The cinnamon does add flavour but it does not stand out. I don't think I would use it crushed, it would probably be overpowering.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day and drink beer.

I did find a use for the over-spiced cin jin, i blended it with some apple wood aged whiskey and then steeped trace botanicals (celestial seasonings sugar plum tea)and sasafrass root bark--for @ 2.5 weeks and added some brown sugar for a pseudo jagermeister clone.
As for uncle R's method, it is beyond me right now, I only have a simple copper one stage pot still, but I'm workin' on a collumn add on.
