milk pail boiler

In our view 30 gallons and under is considered hobby size. Do not bring anything larger than this to our site.

milk pail boiler

Post by golden pond »

Anyone here ever used or considered a stainless steel milk pail for a boiler? The ones I'm talking about were used to collect the milk when using the old vacuum cup milking machines. A neighbor gave me two Christmas day. They are of high grade stainless steel, they measure 12 1/4 inches in diameter at the bottom, 14 inches tall and have a 6 3/4 inch opening at the top. They hold 4 gals. up to where the taper starts at and 5 gal. 3 quarts when filled to the top. He didn't have the tops for them but I remember how they are made, they sealed with a "O" ring and have two fittings. These sure would make nice boilers if 4 gals of mash is used.
