i'm at virginia tech, i'll be 20 in april( I'm bound to get flamed now). Studying building construction. Out all of my crazy projects this is the best/most expensive yet. They never teach you the really useful things in school, its up to you to discover those things on your own. Seems like most are comfortable never being adventurous. So flame me if you like but it wont' stop my pursuit.

lol... if ur gonna get flame, i'll be killed:P im 18 this year (yes, i AM 18 now..)
I have always liked science-like "crazy" stuff, and somehow want to do some distilling for better use than just water...

LEGAL Drinking age here: 18 for drinks with less than 22%, 20 for stronger stuff.

PRACTICAL drinking age here: around 16 years. i live in the country, and we go to parties with "the old folks" and they'll try to get you drunk...
cant say THAT happened alot...

Favorite drink: "Teknikt" (eng: tea-knight) its good tea, four red fruits tea is very good. LOTS of sugar, about 3-4 tablespoons per cup, no matter the size of the cup. little over half of the cup with really hot water, make the tea, add spirits (40%)
Drink with lots of friends and have some fun. sont drink like a kid, or u'll get REALLY sick from the sugar
EDIT: the "knight" is from the kick it gives at 02:00 in the morning because you have been mixing it stronger and stronger since you started at 19:00 the day before

I'm sure its been done considering some of the things I've seen take place in the dorms. I've seen weed farms in people's dorm rooms!

Me, I'm a grad student at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

Cheers,
J

I've seen meth labs done so I seriously doubt a still hasn't been done. And I'm 18, Freshman at Weatherford College.

Feel free to flame, I love a good argument

Not quite distilling, but I brewed my first two batches of beer in the dorms. I just let it ferment in my closet. I stacked 60 bottles upside down, but the last one I put up fell with a domino effect and toppled the others (I supprised I didnt get caught). They fell 1.5m without breaking!

I go to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo... a 'dry' campus, but I have my doubts.

Distilling is happening in my home a few mins (walking distance) from the school. I just finished my still yesterday! :) I did a test run with water... seems good. Unfortunately my parents are up tomorow for easter weekend, but sometime next weekend (after my physics test) The momemnt of truth will come.

Classes to thank:

bio - brewing
organic chem - distilling

whats next?

enology?

Thank god for Alcohol!

btw I am a bio major at age 19.

I found a winemaker here at school, but I haven't met any distillers yet. Maybee he is ripe for corruption into a brandymaker  .

Well I'll be heading off to college in the fall.
Yup, I'm 18 but have been building dangerous stuff all of my life so it's plenty safe for me. Also I don't need to sell it because I have my own computer repair business. Selling it is probably the biggest problem with younger distillers, because they have such a big potential market in their peers.

Boy, that is the truth Griff ! I fear havin roomates who will get in my stuff and cause trouble, then say we got it from possum, he makes it himself !
Of course I could probably pay my tuition if I scaled up and did a retail operation, but that would bring the wrong kind of attention and fines, prison, not to mention no more student aid, and never getting a teaching job. I'll just try to make a little really good stuff for myself, and for friends to consume on the premissis...no doggie bags.

I'm doin' summer classes at another school. I keep thinking about startin up my aparatus up here, but I'm a bit parinoid. Maybe I'll start up some wash, and run it off back at home...still not sure. I hate the interuption, but I don't want to get finked out.

Ain't gossip a bitch? Basically I'm doing this with 2 friends and half of my time goes into making sure they don't go trying to brag about it to someone! It's for science, I tell them, and personal enjoyment.

speaking of roomate they are always getting into my shine. I came home one day from work to a video of all three of them blowing a mouth full of ~86% onto a garden torch. Cool flame but i just wish they wouldnt get into my stuff or at least my good stuff. another time one stoled about a pint of uncut. sooner or later one of em is gunna gets some heads or tail and mess themseleves up reall bad. but next semseter im gunna stick to beer making thank god they dont drink dark beer. My college has a brewclub its mostly proffesors; kindda neat if ya think about it. Ya they all know i distill and have even cleaned up some brandies for them. I am a 22 year old biology major.

NO YOU CANNOT GET AN AMEN! You are significantly underage and I personally feel like you should be banded from the board!
