Post by Enlikil »

I followed the instructions Perfectly. the pack says 6-7 days at one tempature and 4-5 days at another.
I am using Turbo extra yeast.
ANyone know if this is accuarte I have been holding 75 Degree's Solid for 6 days and them bastards are bubbling like boiling water still.. they have slows a bit but not really..
Does anyone have any advice on turbos?
Should i let them go until they completly stop

Thanks

Fermentation often takes longer than what it says on the packet and if its still bubbling the yeast is still converting the sugar into co2 and ethanol. I leave mine until i cant hear any bubbling when i put my ear to the fermentor, otherwise you could use a hydromoter for next time.

Yeah I havent found one turbo yeast that follows their calimed times. The times are just a marketing gimmick IMO. They do ferment a whole lot of sugar, im using 8.5kg of sugar in a 25L wash I made last night. Mine claims 18 days which is pretty much on target, though I leave it 21 days just to be safe and let it settle a bit. Im using Artisan Extreme 20.

I've been using Turbo Pure 24hr and no way is it done in a day. For 2 days the CO2 is coming through the airlock like there's a pump pushing it and on the 3rd day it has slowed to what would I'd call a strong ferment for an ordinary batch of wine. What I do now is consider it finished on the 3rd or 4th day. I've tried running it to a full stop and the extra alcohol imo isn't enough to be worth the (long) wait. Means I can get 2 batches a week from 1 fermenter and a lot less space needed.
