That does look pretty good. I've seen something like it with a locking lid on ebay. I don't know if it meets your expectations, but i thought it looked good.

I still think a 12 dollar keg is about the best ya can do.

They have something like that at the local store. A 5 gallon one is 39.95 i believe. But theres not locking lid. On my still i just use acco clips to hold it down.

copperman - what the store? it's been murder to find something like a stainless container WITH a lid like that, you can always add compression catches and a gasket... finding the container and lid is the hardest part.

edit: factory 2 u or whatever it's called, has 20 quart stainless stock pots with lids for $3.99 each, but it's the thin stainless, like the thickness of 3 pieces of paper, so I passed.... my experience with those is that when boiling liquids (even plain water) they make a popping sound and theres a lot of uneven heating, the pot looks like the one bokabob uses with the clips.

I've used the cheap thin stainless stock pots. The uneven heating isn't a problem if you've fitted hot water heater elements. Brazing fittings to the thin stainless requires care however.
