Cleaning copper boiler

In our view 30 gallons and under is considered hobby size. Do not bring anything larger than this to our site.

Cleaning copper boiler

Post by jmc91199 »

I have a 15 gal copper boiler that dates from around the 1920's-1930's It has a lot of superficial corrosion. I tried a 30% vinegar + water solution with no effect. I've read about using salt+four+vinegar paste or filling it with vinegar+h2o + salt and boiling it for a couple of hours. Then there are chemical striper, oh and of course sandpaper.

What would you suggest?
