A fella I work with; his grandma past;and left him 800 bottles.
Most of these jim beam and ezra brooks all unopen, seals still atached.
some are pre prohabition.(dont know brands)
all but her favorites were stored and the corks kept wet (about 2/3)
Her favorites were displaded at here home.(corks bad)
Now he wants to sell all but his favorites.
I have told him to contact the JB collectors society, and the Oscar ghetz museum (in Bardstown KY) .
I know there are places that sell rare and collectable whiskey and decanters; BUT WHERE and HOW would some one contact them.
please let me know if anyone knows. Or mabee an auction house that specialize's

My sugar wash for ethanol is under the Tried and true recipes forum.
Ebay was discussed, but to sell one bottle at a time or the whole lot.
he thinks maybe one collector may make an offer for the decantors.
I think ebay one bottle at a time will bring more money from someone interested in the whisky. he thinks one at a time to much work. dosnt have an account have to set one up ect.ect.ect
told him i'd see what i could come up with.
thanks JAKE

Actually, you can sell the whiskey on E-Bay. I have bought bourbon on E-Bay and if you run a search you will see all kinds of alcohol on E-Bay. The trick is that the value is for the container and not the contents. Check it out. If I were the owner of the old whiskey I would use E-Bay. There are even businesses that take your stuff and sell it on E-Bay so that is another option. It only takes 5 minutes to open up an E-Bay account. Let us know what the person is going to do. I would like to have some old stuff. I hear that it has a much higher rye content than most whiskey made today.

Actually the place to go is Lebanon Junction Kentucky for bourbon memorabilia. I'll get the name of the place when I go to the Post office tomarrow. There's a big market for it supposedly both on line and off. They show it off every year at the bourbon festival in Bardstown Ky. Great festival - lot's of fun. Get rich - Sell it in a booth there.
