anyone try Hacienda de Chihuahua sotol?

I just picked up a bottle of this to try. I love it. I got the plata. You can taste the smoke and the sotol and its just plain good. ANyone else like sotol?

I very much want to try to make something like this, but the ingredients are hard to find. If anyone has any stories or advice, I'd love to hear.

I have tried it and it is sublime. It tastes like the mountains of Northern Mexico, like the smoke of the Sierra Madre. I drink both the Plata and Reposado. But the Plata is my favorite because it is so pure, like a mountain stream.

I am considering moving to New Mexico and distilling my own from wild New Mexico plants. It's either that or move to the Pacific Northwest and distilling my own Shochu from Yams.

I have to decide whether I like the rain or whether I like the desert... decisions decisions.
