Amanita Muscaria
Has anyone had any experience with this puppies. I have a large crop on my property this year. Some of you may know this is a hallucinogenic variety of wild mushroom that grows in the northern hemisphere around the world.
Many cultures i.e. Laplanders, eat them to get high.
My thought is to soak a portion of these puppies in say 40% vodka for a few months. Before doing so, I was wondering if any adventuresome ones out there had any ideas.
Cheers,
G

Not to offend anyone, and I don't want to play the tyrant, but we gotta draw a few lines in the sand now and again.
It's a short list.

And just between the two of us, you better be damned sure those are really A. muscaria and not A. phalloides

Ecology and Range of A. phalloides in North America
This mushroom is rare in most parts of North America but locally common in such areas as the San Francisco Bay area, where it is typically found from mid-autumn through late winter. Primarily a European species, there is no evidence that the Death Cap is native to North America. Ecologically, it is a beneficial mycorrhizal fungus—like Amanitas in general, it lives on the roots of live trees, providing phosphorus, magnesium, and other nutrients to the tree in exchange for carbohydrates.
I live in Ontario. These puppies are orange with white spots, and are not growing on live trees.
Appreciate the warning regardless.

It is most absurdly said, in popular language, of any man, that he is disguised in liquor; for, on the contrary, most men are disguised by sobriety. ~Thomas de Quincy, Confessions of an English Opium-Eater, 1856
