Little or nothing to do with distillation.

I must be doing something right!

Post by CoopsOz »

Sitting over at a mates place last night waiting to celebrate the coming of the new year, we had been drinking a UJSM variant for a while when one of the guys pulled out a bottle of "Jim Beam small batch", he paid $57 for a 700ml bottle. We all had one glass, agreed it wasn't much chop and went back to drinking the 'shine, I was pretty chuffed with myself I must say. :D :D

$57 for a 700ml bottle :!:

Seems to be the main downside of making your own... you have to keep doing it forever, or give up drinking.

You're an artisan now, Coops.

Top stuff, just love that bit. Haven't done it with the small batch, but with the regular white label bottle the missus got a few months back.

That bottles still sittin in the liquor cupboard with just the neck drunk out of it.
And she drinks bourbon every day, i sip a bottle full with a mate once a week or so and have a couplea slugs now and then as well...

Had a good mate ring me up on sunday, he'd been up all night drinking with one of his mates, produced a bottle of UJSM i'd gave him and they sipped that bottle down to the flat.
He rang me to say the guy reckoned he'd been all round the world, and that was the smoothest bourbon he'd ever drunk. Only a month old too, imagine after two years barrelin'?
Gives ya a nice warm glow to hear that, and it's more than i ever expected to happen when i started this.
