Things to do with the foreshots/heads?

Post by J. W. »

Hello,

I've been wondering what others do with their foreshots/heads,
since you can't drink it.
I'm fairly careful, and typically dump the first 110 ml.
(I separate the first 10 ml since I heard that has
most the methanol, but also go ahead and dump the next 100 ml,
just in case).

So I'm wondering if I can do anything useful with it?
Seems like a waste to just dump it down the drain.
Like can I dump it into my gas tank and get a little more umpf?

Or does someone have a better idea?

Thanks,
John

I've heard that some people burn it in their lanterns or lawnmowers. I haven't tried this though.

Wood furnace lighter. Best I've ever used.

You can use it for just about anything that you would use denatured alcohol for. (e.g. welding surface prep.)

I just throw my foreshots into my bottle of commercial methylated spirits (denatured spirits).

I burn it in old style kerosene lamps. Puts of really good heat but not much light. My friend burns it in his torpedo heater which sounds like a jet.

Just to let you know Blanik....you got a chuckle out of me.:D I think it was lost when you used the "pissed" instead of "drunk", for the non Aussies out there pissed is used to describe a drunken state as apposed to angry here in Aus. :D

It works just as good as store-bought rain-x

Also, killing ants.

The wife like using my good stuff from the reflux still for bathroom/kitchen cleaner. She says it is the best cleaner she has ever used......I said "it's the best household cleaner I have ever drank",lol.

foreshots

Post by partonken »

I had 3 litres of foreshots saved up so i put it in my windshield washer tank in my car. It was around 80% and let me tell you every time i cleaned the windshield you would get the the most pleasant ethanol smell!

I told my son if he ever gets pulled over by a cop, dont clean the windshield!!!!
