I was in San Francisco in '70 too...as a visitor anyway. Much of my family has lived in the area since before the 1906 shaker and has some great stories about those times.

Is this the place for old distillers, or hippies? Or is there a difference?
Yeah, the old days, free love, power to the people. An era not to be forgotten.
In the meantime, wouldn't it be great to have a lobby to legalize the production of distilled spirits for home use?
I realize that the ATF is not going to go chasing after the small home-brewer, so, why is it illegal?
On another point, and this is for you Jessie, why not have a meeting of all of us to get together, share our wares?

It's been mentioned many times before Old Ass but until they make it legal, I think the gathering would be best held in New Zealand.

One of these days, we will have to meet and exchange some jars 8)
Too bad they don't have live Poker Tables at Harrah's (from what I have heard), we could sit around drink a little shine, and lie
Anyway, nice to have some local hobbists.

Cheers

Me too, you know how hard money is to come by up here. Must be that Scotch-Irish thing. We are getting low on firewood, and can't seem to get our lazy asses up to go cut down a tree. Good thing the weather has been co-operating. I would be interested in swapping a pint or so with you, just to sample some other home-brew. Not a big deal though. I am not paranoid being as I don't sell it and am just a hobbist.
I do like playing Poker though.

Cheers

Tater, Digger and Old Ass...Ya'll being regional and all, have you been to Barney's Moonshiner's reunion in New Prospect? It's just a short drive away. Great fun and music. People come from all over the US. See the same ones every fall. Always there pickin' on this old Martin.

Should I book a camping ground?

You can only get 3 litres in per person... should be enough for a tasting session :-)

Always first weekend in Oct. Been going on for about 20 years now.

They have a festival in the spring also but it ain't nothing but a hippie gathering with "alternative" bluegrass if you're into that sort of thing. Bunch of younguns.

The fall gathering is traditional bluegrass and mostly older folks. Real laid back.

Hi all from your neighbor to the west. I live just across the TN state line. I'd love for us all to get together and shoot the s#$t and have a nip someday. Plus I'd like to hear some of your stories, techniques, etc if you wouldn't mind.
