You know you live kinda isolated when you have to shoot them in the front yard--I can't understand why the US thinks these things are endangered. 4th one this year.

I have to kill the ocassional Death Adder, which I don't like doing, but they are extremely toxic and very well camouflaged ambush predators, and you can't let them settle in around the house.
It is their own fault, they do insist on coming up to the house, when they have acres of virgin forest nearby to run in undisturbed. I only kill them when they come up to the house, and leave them alone in the forest.
Cane toads, on the other hand, I kill anywhere, anytime, without any regrets at all.

Be safe.
Be discreet.
And have fun.

Another thing I miss out on, having to defend yourself from poisonous and/or predatory animals. I've shot more stray dogs than foxes and coyotes in this region. I remember hearing that there aren't any native poisonous snakes in my region of Ohio. The only poisonous snake I've heard that lives within the state is the Copperhead, but that's down south...
I have, however, squashed a brown recluse and a black widder' in my time.

I think a silver tip 220 grain '06 would be more fun. Make a game out of guessing how far the splat would go.mikeac wrote:LoL!!
