Satellite radio?

Post by Jetzon »

Just curious how many people here listen to satellite radio and the thoughts bout the two company's 'Soon to be one sounds like"
I have Sirius satellite radio. I got into it when I was using Dish network for TV. It was free with my package. I bought two head units now both with life time subscriptions. I couldn't go a Day without it! I drive a lot in my line of work and I Hate all them Dam Commercials! I think I would have shot somebody by now without my music. makes sitting in traffic a little nicer, Not much but a little.
I changed over to Direct TV and have XM satellite radio. Its just awful! I like to compare and I'm very fair before I make my decisions. Ive had Direct TV for over a year and played with the XM part quite a bit. There Classic rock selection sucks. They have No festival kinda music. "keller Williams, Phish, Left over salmon".. Just awful selection for Blue Grass..
To me its not a hard choice between the two. Hands down Sirius is Way better.
Just wondering what others think between the two..

I wish there was a "I don't listen to satellite radio" option. Never saw a use for it, and I have to pay for it. I can usually get what I want on my local stations.

I just saw that None there :? Was asking myself How the hell did I do that?
Thanks Husker, Thats a fair option.. IMO I have dial up so that leaves out Net radio, For me to down load a song takes half an hour. My 30 gig Zen has a ton of music, But heard So may times.
For me its like antenna tv VS satellite tv. 2-3 stations and nothings on..

My music is the crackle of the fire and the gurgle of the still ,the plingk as the first drops come off and hit the bottom of the jug and the tone changes as the jug fulls, the loons off in the back ground the frogs down at the pond if you listen carefully

Four years ago was a Great year for my business. The X finance was Out the door and I had money rolling in. Was my Xmas gift to self. Went ahead and paid the life time service fee. I think it was $300 bucks. 12.99 a month x 48+ months = 15 billion dollars! I liked it so much I bought another head unit and life time. second life time 1/2 price. two radios two trucks. When your single you seem to have money falling out your pockets.
Its a right off at the end of the year, well was. and I'm in my truck 15 hours a day seven days a week in winter time. Northern VA traffic is Number 2 worst traffic Only to LA and were not far behind either.. I saw a show on the discovery channel bout Road rage and A Lot of it was shot round here
For my life style I couldnt go without. Always have music where ever I go. I even have a boom box for when I go riding my 4 wheeler.

To me, music and TV are just something for background noise, been known to leave the same tape (now CD) in the deck til it wouldn't play anymore. Don't carry a damn cell phone either.

Very poetic, Dunder. I always been a fan of what we here call 'bush television', aka a nice campfire under the stars.

Hi Have Sirius radio. I love it. I still listen to some broadcast radio. I like the local talk shows but sometimes I just need something else. On the weekends and when I an driving up north to go camping and fishing you get out in the rule areas and there is no stations. With the satellite radio I can listen to it wear ever I am. On long drives it is nice to listen to one of the comedy channels. I am a NASCAR fan and I can always listen to all the news and events going on with racing. I also like to on long drives to listen to the old time radio show. I also have a docking station forthe house and use it in there too.

I had XM for a bit but I just like the stations on Sirius better.

Yea Jetzon,

I was listening to the playboy channel on my way home from work today. It was the night call's program. It is a hoot listening to them. I also have the sportster 4. Just upgraded to it a few months ago.
