question about recirculation cooling

Post by kevotron »

I have built a potstill using a 20 qt stockpot with 1/2 inch copper pipe which leads to a liebig condenser. I did a test run with water to see how the still worked and everything worked out pretty well. I did notice that it used a TON of water to cool the condenser and have seen somethings about a closed loop recirculation setup. I did some keyword searches and wasnt able to come up with anything that really helped me. Does anyone have any advice as far as if a pond type pump and a big tub\can of water will be adequate for my setup? I will be doing my first real run soon making the UJSM recipe. thanks.
