New flavour additive???

Oddly enough, I opened my batch of 6th gen ujsmtonite while it was boiling happily away. This not something I normally do, but something told me I must look. There was Mouse shit swiming away with all the other pieces of corn. I don't know how long its been in there or for how many batches. I don't know what to do about this. Will it add flavour, I meen Ive heard of shitty tasting booze, but..... Is it dangerous? Should I dispose of all my stores? Need serious replies please as I am not very happy about Micky leaving his shit in my corn.

I don't think it would be harmful. If something bad was going to happen it probably would have been your ujsm getting infected.
But if that didn't happen I wouldn't worry. If there were some bugs in there that for some reason didn't infect your wash then they would die in the still anyway.
I dare say everyone gets mouse crap on their corn...only you were unlucky enough to actually find some.

to add----- do you thank that when they make your "corn flakes" that they pick all that out? all food the same way , you just do not
know it is there. ask any farmer. most is just filtered out. what you do not see does not heart you. there's more in that grain than you
know.

Chances are the mouse was eating corn and produced extra enzymes, or the mouse was eating beetles that were eating the corn If it was boiling then it is sterile as far as germs and infections go, and 40% alcohol will make extra sure.

Why can't we eat bread with weevils, fruit with little worms, water with wiggly things or meat with maggots? Because we are thoroughly modern that's why. OK I draw the line with maggots but there are many people who don't.

It's amazing what eats what, but crap produces food and food produces crap....the cycle of life!

I, like most of the guys here, get my corn from the stockfeed place.

Apparently farm animals aren't put off by a little rodent nugget in their dinner.

Or roaches, or wood chips, or dead flies, or cigarette butts, or sand etc etc etc etc ............................

A lot of it will float to the top of the fermenter, when you first tip it in and give it a stir, and you can skim it off then.

But I found it easier to just not look!

If it really bothers you next time just rinse off the grain but you will loose a little ( the powder)
