Birdwatchers sugar wash recipe - sub the sugar for molasses

Hey,

If you wanted to make a rum would it be ok to use Birdwatchers sugar wash recipe and substitute the sugar for molasses and brown sugar?

Feed grade molasses is about 40% sugar. (4 pounds per gallon)
If you want to do a molasses wash, use the Pugirum or Pinto's fast fermenting molasses wash. Both are in the Tried and True section and work great.
