True Brew Hydrometer?

Post by Ethanol Al »

Hey guys, just wondering if any one knows where I can find a temperature correction chart for a True Brew proof hydrometer? Also is this the same thing I hear referred to as a alcholmeter? Thanks in advance.Al

I believe the tool you have is the same as what many call an alcoholometer.

See this table. It is designed to correct temps for a 'tool' calibrated to 20°C (which is 68F).

Thanks for the help and the link, I don't think it will work for me though. My hydrometer is calibrated at 60 deg F. I'm not sure who makes True Brew equipment but I cant seem to find a web site for them?

i have the tables that come with the true brew triple scale beer and wine hydrometer sg 0.990-1.170 brix o-38% sugar by weight and abv 0-22% . if that is what you have i can fax you the page (2 sides) that comes with it. i have been reading this and other sites for a year+ but this is my first post. out of not having a need have not seen anything about contact protocals, so fill me in if you can. i can fax easiest.

There are no 'real' protocols as far as exchange of personal information. You might use the site's email button (if he has one), to send a direct email, or might hit the pm button, and carry on a conversation in a pm (private message). Information sharing like that is up to you (and whomever you would contact). Many here get a little nervous about sharing personal info, simply because the govt frowns on distillation without a license and payment of taxes. However, the information you are wanting to share is nothing 'secret'.

Btw, welcome, and thanks for the information. It would be nice if you could scan this information in, and then upload the pix to a post. If so, then someone could post this data to the parent site to supplement our existing tables.

Easy to use Measured ABV vs Actual ABV - Temperature Correction graph here ---> GRAPH

Remember:
ºF = ( ºC x 1.8 ) + 32
Or
ºC = ( ºF – 32 ) ÷ 1.8
I think, therefore I think... I think

the document is clearly marked with a copyright on the face side i assume that transfers to the obverse and there are'nt many battles i'm willing to fight. besides any thing that involves cut and paste also involves bloody sticky fingers. i will seek permission from true brew to post and pm ethanol al so he can proceed.

thanks much c.o.b.

cob,

If you contact the company (hydro adjustment chart), see if they can provide a web link. If so, you should be able to post that.

so i just got off the phone with crosby and baker ltd. the owners of the true brew brand and got permission to post the instruction sheat for the true brew #6800 triple scale hydrometer with 60 degree calibration. i have the email so i have proof (cma) but i'm still stuck with the fax not scanner problem. the guy at crosby and baker said the info was basicly common knowledge but it clearly is marked copyright any one with a fax and a scanner want in ? i can forward the email permission from crosby and baker the permission is not written exclucive to me.

PS:

is there a more apropriate thread for my revenoor question? my apologies to ethanol al for the braino (thats bigger than a typo) to early in the morning, not enough coffee, and wanting out the door. and worse yet after reading alcahol al i almost contracted it to AA. (and now i find the edit feature.)

(Fixed, now it has it's own thread under pot stills, Husker)
