Very Weak Taste with essence

Hi there,

I bought some prestige brand essences online and decided to try the Bourbon Whiskey essence. I cut down my 90ABV to 80 proof with water, added the essence to a 750ml bottle and filled it with the 80 proof like the directions indicated.

I shook it when it was 3/4 full and then topped it off. Boy was it weak! (As far as whiskey taste goes).

Has anyone had experience with this essence? Is it the essence, somethin I did, or could it just be my alcohol batch? I retested with my alchometer and I did correctly cut to 80 proof.

I couldnt really find anything reguarding this on the forum

**EDIT** -- The one I tried was the Bourbon Whiskey essence... I couldnt find any reviews on here about it, but I did find reviews on some of the other ones I had bought. Hopefully they come out better
