hi,

I have a range of different temp sensing probes, which i use for work.
if your meter is calibrated correctly they may be of a limited use, eg, taped to the external surface of the pot to monitor boiling temp.
but in my experience immersion type probes are not designed to be immersed in ethanol vapor or high temp liquid.

cheers

Thought I saw a food grade, stainless immersion probe for multimeter thermos when I was looking for my thermos.

I've used the digital multimeter thermometer, it was fine down around 30 degrees, but it went out by about 6 degrees up around the 80 degree mark.
