building a still need connection advice

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.

building a still need connection advice

Post by malcontent »

I have a piece of 1 1/2" copper I got off of an HVAC guy . I want to connect it to the stainless steel lid of my pot. Whats the best way to do that? I figured I would reduce from that to 1/2" for my arm. Any good tips.
thanks

You could use this method to flange the pipe. (Would need to adjust measurement for pipe size) Then solder it to the lid.

Some have used stainless kitchen sink drains for 1 1/2" pipe as well.
It is the very things that we think we know, that keep us from learning what we should know.
