long time drinker first time maker

Hey eveyone,
Been making hard cider and wine s for a while now. What to try my hand at distilling. Would this work, some one told me how to do this but before I start dumping stuff down the drain I figured I 'd ask some pros. Her goes: In a large pot put in a brick ,put liquid up to the brick, put a bowl on top of the brick. heat to 175 deg. put lid on upside down, and put some dry ice on it to cool the alchol steam, and then drink. Does this sound like it would work? Kinda makes sense and is simple. Any thought or suggestions would be helpful

Yes and no ,, yes it does work BUT no you don't git a good product, there's no way to take out fore shots , heads,,tales.
to put simply ,, you will have something stronger ,, something with more hangover and possibly bad taste.
you will have everything you have now only stronger.
