wine stored 4 years in 5 gallon plastic carboy
A friend gave me some blackberry wine. I loved it.....delicious........everybody loved it. Now be brought me the rest since he said he didn't drink it..just made it for pleasure & hid it outside inthe shed 4 years ago "and it ain't never froze"...implying must have a decent bit of alcohol because it gets in the low teens here. Here's the question........It has been in a sealed 5 gallon plastic carboy for all those years............I can detect no plastic taste...whatchathink? Safe? Thank you
Moonshine ain't nothing but lots of love and goodness distilled into liquid. It will love you like a big woman wearing a straw hat

Low proof alcohol should be perfectly fine for that amount of time in plastic. It's the high proof stuff that is questionable. Some plastics will allow the oxygen to escape actually increasing the proof of what's left, according to scientists that study this stuff.
