Cheap Mash recipe

Alright i will want to do a second run soon enought, and im wondering, witch is the best (cheapest) recipe? im running a reflux still with a colomb and can easely get 95%, so im looking for something basic but that can go to completion. My first wash was a sugar wash, 5kg white sugar and 100g baking yeast. After 2 weeks of fermentation i got around 1.5 L of 95% (not alot at all, the calculators on this site show me i can get around 2.7L) and after a bit of reading what im obviously missing is nutriments for my yeast. So all im asking, what is the cheapest recipe so that my yeast gets the nutriments it needs and the fermentation can go closer to completion? I would try Rad's all bran recipe, but before i do, is there a better one with ingredients from a supermarket? Thanks

Check out tried and true recipies. Two very simple recipies (and cheap too): 1. Deathwish Wheat Germ 2. Birdwatchers Sugar wash. Birdwatchers is hard to screw up, as is DWWG. Just look around and you will find yer answers

the allbran is by far the cheap and easy wash and all ingredients are at the supermarket,yes see tried and ture (AllBran)i have done washes with and with out nutrients all have cleared 5 to 10 days its a graet wash to lern from

+1 on Birdwatchers. So far it's been the most neutral and easy recipe. I haven't tried Uncle Remus' rice vodka yet. But of the sugar washes, birdwatchers gets my vote until I can try the others. Sugar, water, tomato paste. Great Value tomato paste is 50¢ a can so 2 cans, plus your sugar, water and yeast. Quick and easy.

No doubt on the birdwatcher's. i got some goin right now and its been very easy...not that ive ever been a problem with any sugar wash. i did my first with 2lbs brown sugar to one gallon of water and the only problem i had was i was greedy and didnt let it finish...first time jitters i guess. but definitely birdwatcher is cheap and easy...for easy conversions of the large amounts stated in the recipe, i go to http://www.convert-me.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow .

Thanks for the replies. I will go buy ingredients this week-end probably. Going to give birdwatchers a go. Hope it all turns out well, but seeing as everyone's recommending it I'm sure all will go right.
