A 5 gallon copper pot still
Re: 600 ml 40%ABV from 1kg sugar ???
Are you measuring your hydrometer readings, etc getting .990 final weight? I get about 900 - 1000ml aswel using still spirits standard reflux with extension colum (With my pot still this drops about 50-100ml). I am not sure if you have checked for leaks in your still etc either, may be a factor.

You are right. I found the problem. While distilling there was smell of alcohol. I made a double layer cooling coil for my bokabob mini and there is no more smell. Now I am getting indeed 1000 mL/kg sugar. I'll post some pictures.Saccie wrote:Are you measuring your hydrometer readings, etc getting .990 final weight?
