how much oak
How much toasted oak chips to use for 1 qt of 100 proof. I have no idea how much to add.

Hi KS, this thread covers a lot of ground. Many options but the collective wisdom is to use less oak longer. You have a range of options. Good luck, bd.

Too much will give you a satisfying colour very quickly (in my failed experiment I got a great scotch colour in just 12 hours but after a couple of weeks it just tasted like wood and left a nasty aftertaste).
Less oak and more time was the way forward for me.

Try a 3 fingered pinch, wait as long as you can stand to test. I have noticed after about 2/3 months is ok.
