what soder & flux to use?

What soder & flux is everybody using? where are you buying yours & getting best prices?

Silver solder. Readily available at home improvement stores (Home Depot and Lowe's if you are in the U.S.). If there is anything in your still that isn't copper, stainless steel or silver, then you better start over. Unless of course you want to poison yourself and those you share your hooch with. If your question is what brand to use, I've found it all costs pretty much the same.

We all agree that lead-free solder is imperative.

But, my Oatey lead-free silver solder (p/n 29025) contains 1% - 5% Bismuth according to their MSDS sheet.

And, "Bismuth is the most diamagnetic of all metals, the least toxic, and has the lowest absorption for neutrons...." Source:USGS 2007 Minerals Yearbook - BISMUTH [ADVANCE RELEASE] page 12.1

So the question, like all those relating to safe materials, is this product acceptable for our craft?
