I took some brita filters apart and let my alcool soak and it turned blueish grey
any ideas on what would cause this?
And would it be safe to drink or what should I do with it?

Note Ion exchange resin within the description.
Resin means plastic. No?

Re: Brita filter turned my alcohol blue
I love this place! In years previous, I had used a brita-type filter(cheaper generic ones) to clean up my rum before bottling. It worked well(maybe the generic filters were carbon-only?), but it sure is nice to have hard facts like this to show us what not to do.
Legalizing/decriminalizing would put all this information "out there" for even the newbies and computer-illiterate.
