Hello!!!

Post by RegularGuy13 »

Hello all, very cool forum and thanks for getting this site together!

* A little about yourself
Regular guy that likes booze / excuse to have a pig roast with plenty of booze after this winter..\

* A little about what you want to do, and or what you would like to gain from the site/forum.

did 2 runs on a rudimentary home depot / wife's potato pot special ( Stripped a 5 gal wash made from dextrose / maltose ) --tastes pretty good , added a few oak chips today and can see the "Whiskey" color , ( very off the cuff so far )

second batch created today ... should be bubblin soon( 11lbs total { 4# confectioners sugar, 4# corn sugar / dextrose , 3# light malt {maltose} --distillers yeast )

* A little about what still you currently have, or what you are wanting to make/buy
after the first two runs / strip & finish and thanks to this site I can see the benefit of better designs

will probably convert the turkey fryer to something more useful :) -- capacity reasons..
--something that does not need snow to cool the condenser.

* Any other additional information you find helpful.
different Boilers that ppl use. / using flour at the moment on a pot for a seal and it is not ideal..

If you have ideas about sealing mechanisms I'd love to hear them... ( Using flour / tinfoil & clips now )

* Where you are at. You don't have to list exact location, but simply Central US, or Europe, or AU, would be more than enough. Just enough so that folks have an idea on what part of the globe you hail from.

rather not say :) ... fyi if trac..ing the ip i'm using a proxy

Welcome to the forum.

Beer kegs are the go to pot for many of the members on this forum. Easy to get, easy to seal, and they have a good capacity.

Folks run keg rigs on electric. Water heating elements with a controller. I don't but it looks to be pretty slick.
