Refining Orb 3.0

Post by LWTCS »

Another observation as I do have a flare for stating the obvious.

While recycling water to the dog dish from my double walled product condenser, I noticed that the distillate was much cooler than if I had only run water to the product condenser.

Stay with me.

My in-line thumper (as all thumpers are) is a parasitic secondary boiler. But it is first a condenser before it is a boiler. Typically we may expect to hear that a thumper gets enough charge to cover the inlet holes. I think I’ll fill the thumper to the half way mark and specifically use the liquid as a better initial condenser. And of course an academic by-product would be the secondary distillation. I’m going to drop the vapor temp more before it gets to the orb.

A failed effort to bleed heads at the orb has led to a rebuild that will more aggressively cool vapor within the first orb plate.
A somewhat passive draining system will be replaced with a cooling jacket that can handle more water input.

By cooling the vapor more specifically before it gets to the orb and then a better job cooling when the vapor enters the orb, I am hopeful that I can bleed heads at the orb and then continue on with a with a relatively clean , heads & tails free “balls to the wall” run.

What’s the point says some of you. To force Phuk a twenty liter wash to render the cream in a more submissive maner.
