VM Gate Valve Gate Sideways

Here is my VM gate valve setup. Is it ok that the opens from the side. I like the way it looks and will be easier to tweak there. Also Im ready to drill my temp probe hole just want to check placement. It should be centered in the vapor stream just short of the condensate stream. Right?

Ah thank you. I have trouble finding things when I search. Don't know enough to narrow things down get over info.
