I sent the amphora society an email to their sales address a week ago now, are these guys still trading?

Hey Kiwi, maybe you could try an email to Ian Smiley; he'd know their status.

I dealt with Mike McCaw late last year and he used the sales@amphora-society.com email.

He informed me that Mike Nixon in NZ was no longer active due to poor health, I hope he is well as I have dealt with him on and off over the years for packing etc and he was always a really top notch bloke. It may be that being only Mike McCaw now that he won't always be able to check his email every day, may be on hoilday for a week etc. I've had it on my to do list for the last few months to get some of those sleaves from him, so hope they are still around.

Ahhh, just seen he's in Scotland until May 17th... that'll be why.

Ahh, don't actually recall anymore. I bought so much mesh at the time that I have had a life long supply. This would have been about 7 to 8 years ago now though. These days I am lucky if I can remember what I ate for dinner last night. They have nothing in NZ anymore though, all stuff is from US. I remember it is made in Germany and seems to be of a much better grade then I have seen anywhere else, some stuff is very thin and flimsy.

I noticed you can buy tiny scraps of it at the homebrew shop now, packaged by one of the notorius and forgetable (to me) named still makers/ suppliers here, next to the packed rasching rings and copper pipe scraps. You may go broke trying to fill a 1200 high column, probably need about 20 packs :)

yeah I saw that a while back and ended up laughing at the confused brew shop owner. this was just after he had tried to tell me that his breass scrubbers were fine because they 'had copper in them'. When asked about the lead he was, again, confused.

I guess I'll be ordering from usa then. ah well. going to need a lot of mesh to fill a big 4" column :?
