Shinners Flute build.

Post by Kentucky shinner »

I thought I would post some pics as i progress. I have 4" pipe and 5 sight glasses built. I must say with Olddogs tutorial on making the sight glasses this was not nearly as hard as I thought it might be, I made these last night in about 1.5 hours. I still have 3 to make. I am waiting for my glass cutter and I think this will be the tricky part. I will be updating as I progress.

They would probably have plastic lenses, Just get a glass disc cutter from Ebay, they are cheap, and did a good job for me.

hey I bought a little mapp/oxy torch from craftsman a while back. That baby gets really hot. Cuts steel. oxy tank is same size as typical mapp tank. dont last too long, but its really handy. you probably dont need that though.

But the mapp torch has a different jet, which makes propane burn even hotter than normal.

Because of the different jets, it was my understanding that you could use propane with a Mapp head; but not Mapp with a propane head (which was the original question I think?).

Is that the truth?

(ETA: Better quoting)
