Infusion question

If you are going to infuse botanical in vodka, what proof do you think would be the best? When aging whiskey its best at 120Prf aprx. Would different proofs bring out different types of flavors from the botanical??

There are many variables to make a successful answer to your question. It depends upon which botanicals, and how much vegetable matter you are seeking to infuse. Are the botanicals dried or fresh? Also, if you are infusing the spirit with the intention of re-distilling it, or making a simple flavor infusion, or to create a liqueur also makes a difference.

Woops, Yah I am going to take straight vodka and make a flavored beverage out of it. It will be drank as soon as it is ready, no re-distilling. I would like to use fresh vegetable matter not dried. I know I know, I already know the answer.....Experiment!! LOL I am trying to get an Idea so I don't waist to much vodka....money...

Well aint it lucky you are making your own spirits then? :D :lol: :D

You will just have to punch out a few so you have more to play around with,and still have some for sippin on while you experiment.

first botanical aren't going to dilute like fruit will so you should not have to have it much more than drinking strength.
next if the guys knew what you were trying to make it mite help.
