Foreshots Question

I have been running my reflux, and catching the foreshots with the valve wide open as the boiler heats up. The first thing to liquify and come out is what I discard. I have been reading on the site, that it is better to "stabilize the column". My question is, if you let it reflux with the valve closed, for say, 1 hour and then bleed the foreshots, (which I haven't been doing) wouldn't the ethanol & methanol be mixed up. I thought it was critical to get rid of the first thing that starts turning into liquid.
