hell,,, not yet. since iv done this to my condensor,, iv gotta wait till monday to get the laquer on it before i can test my patchwork on the column. then im going to engine turn the column.. believe me,,, im chompin at the bit to get this workin, but as long as it has taken thus far,,, whats another week or too???? this is a one time thing for me, so i better make it the way i want it and not take any short cuts. but i have been tempted to just stop where i am and just run it. after all,,,, is this about the liquor ,, or is it about the style???? for me,, its about 50/50. the first thing that turned me on to the flute was the craftsmanship and the class that it boasted. it wasent till after i started building it and learning about it, that i found out about the proformance...... im stuck between a rock and a hard place

im afraid that my hands are tied at the moment. im waiting on the laqure so i can hook the condensor back up so i can do my 2nd leak test, so i can machine turn my column, so i can laquer it, so i can,,,,,,, yada, yada, yada,....its always darkest before dawn

yea, i know, i know. i havent got the grahm condensor out of the wrapp yet, im afraid to see how much craps going on there. i was suppose to get the laquer today, but the guy @ sherwin williams told me that it would be there on thursday. all i can do is wait

rockchucker22 , i used the easyflange method on my 4" pipe, then, i sat the 2"x4" reducer inside the 4" and made a mark around the reducer where they met. then, again, i used the easyflange method but fit it to the mark on the reducer. this part took a little time to fit it right, but it worked good. iv put this all together and ran it once, and it seems to be a solid connection.

it worked for me,,,,,. its definataly worth a try. if it dont workout for ya,,, all ya got to do is pop off the flange and there will be no harm done to the fittings and stuff. just a little time lost.

Just made a 2" easy flange connection for the keg, worked out good next will be the 4" Thanks again Spook

finally got the lacquer in !!!! i guess that its been about 2 weeks since i machine turned the column and found out that i had to set it back... i rapped it up in paper towles, ALOT of paper towles, and dident open it till now.. it looked fine!!!! i think that one of the reasons that it stayed preserved so long was that the whole time,, from start to finish, i used latex gloves when i touched it, and i never got it out from the time that i rapped it up. anywhoooo,,,
i got a link on the lacquer that was comonly used and was blown away by the price of a 12 oz can, so i went on the hunt. here is what i ended up with. it is an industeral grade lacquer is designed for alloys (copper). i called the company and they said that it would work but they recomended not to use it on things that would be 200*f. (so i figured that it tested at about 400*f before it acually broke down) most things that iv found cut their recomendations in about 1/2 of what theyll acually do.
so everything you see here ended up being less than 70$$... as i am finding out, 1 gal of this stuff will be way more than plenty,,, but i like to over do things any way. there should be enough left over to do a few coats on everything in and around the house.. the old rear engine snapper mower is next!

i fixed the few leakes that i had on the column today, so by mid next week, ill run some diluted heads and tails through her for a final test. then next saterday, im gonna slide in the shop at work and do the column. (i dont have a drill press at home). but next sunday, ill have the lacquer on the column, and then,,,,,,,,,,, ill be thinking of my next project ... but back to reality,, i cant wait to truley get her up and running.
thanks everybody for the motivation to keep me on track,,,with this build, one has to understand that it wont be done in a few hours (atleast not in my case ). and thanks to every ONE for helping me expand my horizions!

ok,,,, the condensor was my first attempt at "engine turning" so when i do the column,, ill take a little more time. ifa man was to do this about 20 or so times,, he might get good at it.
