That's a cool unit Mr Spooky. I saw something very similar once in a restaurant that made it's own cured meats. It had similar type of controls from what I gather and all the cured meat looked real pretty aging behind the glass.

thanks,,, im up to about 81* now.
this was a beverage cooler that i bought (about 150$) that the compressor was busted. i dident need the compressor anyway, so i hooked up a thermostat to (50$or so ), made a false back with styrofoam (free) some flexwatt (maby 20$) and done.. its up to me to what the temp and humidity is set at. the fans still worked in the cooler, so thats how i can adjust the humidity. thou i dont think that the humidity will really matter. it even comes with a lite.

Re: Other hobbies...
mr. spooky, i got the dragonfly from an airline pilot who said he never could fly it (he had several heli's) i can fly it a little its real tricky. my 5 year old granddaughter fly's it pretty good. "this is how you do it grampa" i have a couple heli's smaller than the yellow one that she fly's pretty well also. and i'm decent at too. http://il.youtube.com/watch?v=BtM3oaUj5XQ&feature=fvsr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow we fly without the tail. every time i watch this guy i wonder how many he crashed to get this good http://il.youtube.com/watch?v=gi7G-VzU2r4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow . my heli's are electric so you won't hear me checking your attire.

Re: Other hobbies...
I thought I posted here already...maybe another thread about hobbies?
Anyway, besides stillin' I am hard core into dragracing, building cars/engines for myself and others (I have a 900hp street mustang showing up this weekend for cage work). Build/play with mud trucks,4 wheelers, got a cottage and paddle boats etc, do some work for stock car guys around here (I got out of stock cars but enjoyed it) Play guitar, fiddle, organ, drums.
I don't know, basically anything that involves manual dexterity. Oh, I enjoy cooking/bbqing etc too.
As far as diesels, I am in the vehicle tech in the army. My specialty is leopard tanks so yes I'm a "diesel tech" too. I LOVE diesels and my daily driver is a 4 door one ton 7.3 diesel. 175hp and pulls the car trailer/slide in camper etc no problem. (and yet the newer trucks are 400hp/800lb's tq???)
One funny thing is I don't like bikes at all. even as a kid I preferred building dune buggies out of old vw's. Actually more of a...mmm...HATE thing I guess/
2 strokes screaming just curdles my blood. At the dragstrip I plug my ears and walk away when a bike runs. My friends daughter runs a 10 second sled and that's a bit annoying too, whatever.
Love v-8's

Re: Other hobbies...
I've had a few hobbies over the decades, flying gliders, beer brewing and wine making, getting married several times, longish distance running (100 miles a week), Aikido (1st kyu), getting divorced several times, cross cpountry skiing, skydiving, glider flying and maintenance again, gardening, now distilling and occaisional flying when I can bum a flight, pouring shit on big bouncers (not a wise move, but when you're an old bastard you can get away with a fair bit - especially when you have your fire fighter mates with you.
You can see the adolescence madness slowing to adult wisdom - apart from the bouncer pricks - over the years, now I've even given away gardening, but I still love fooling bouncers with logic.
You may have picked up on a tendency to chase women, but you can also see that eventually I realised that that is more dangerous than any of the other pursuits.

I forgot to mention that I used to be really into paragliding. I still have my equipment but have not been up in the air in since I got married about 3 years ago. Man does that sound like fun right now. Not a good time of year for thermals around here but steady winds on upslopes are good enough for me.

i see flying mentioned a bit here. My grandpa had 2 planes when i was a kid, my dad took lessons and i flew with him quite a bit. then dad got grounded for health reasons. always said i wanted to learn even had my dads instructor tell me he would teach me for free just to get time in the plane. it was a piper supercub. just a 2 seater but hell of a lot of fun. i was a dumb kid with to much on my mind. never took him up on it. What an oprotunity, and i screwed it up.
