3" bok?

Post by emiliokiedoke »

i am about to start a build and i was wondering if anyone has built a 3" diameter bok. if so are you happy with it? does it cut down your run time? i was thinking between 48" and 57" including condencer column height with the two slant plates on 15.5 keg and propane. any thoughts? i just wanna cut run time down a little from what i'd get from a 2". how would this effect my full reflux equilibrium time? shorter, longer? i'm aware of the extra cost, ie scrubbers. if there is a thread on a 3" bok i couldn't find it. thank you.

cool thread, thank you. it really only compared the outputs of the 3" vm and 3" bok though. i was kinda lookin for the amount of time i would save runn1ng a 3" bok as appossed to a 2" bok. it seems it would be efficient if you just packed it enough. idk.

I have a 3" bok design you can see in the "my still" section on these forums, I upgraded soon after a painfully slow spirit run on a 2" bok and never regret it for a moment.

Whilst I dont have figures and take off rates written down anywhere, my spirit runs have gone from upto 16 hours down to about 8 hours, so yeah I reckon it's well worth it.

Cheers.
